This place is awesome! On my first visit I was in need of a replacement crash for a gig and Paul personally picked out 5 recommendations for me to try after I told him what I was looking for. He even let me try them out with my personal cymbals on a practice kit to make sure I could find the perfect match. This 20" Instanbul Power Crash is beautiful and priced just right. It got complements after the gig that night too so I couldn't be happier with the service I got. This is my new drum store!

I'd give them zero stars if that were possible. I purchased a Sonor SQ2 kit and while they mailed the toms in the factory boxes with the factory padding, they mailed the bass drum in a thin cardboard box with NO padding whatsoever. I thought I was being very fair but asking Chris, the owner, for a letter stating that he'd replace the bass drum if damage to shell / finish developed. While he said yes over the phone, he never sent a letter (despite 3 attempts). Pathetic for business owner. DON"T BUY DRUMS from this GUY. Shop at DRUM CENTER of PORTSMOUTH.

I just want to give a shout out to Hunter at the drum shop. I’m not much of a drummer, however I needed a decent sounding kit for song writing and a bit of recording. Hunter was super friendly and informative and very patient with me. He helped me pick out just the right kit and accessories. I could not be happier with the service Hunter provided and the amazing selection that this establishment offers. I would recommend The Drum Shop to anyone at any level of playing. Two thumbs up…thanks again, Hunter!

Best drum shop currently in existence. Over the past 50 plus years of drumming, I’ve done business with many drum shops, some owned by friends. Those went away with the advent of big box music stores. THIS IS THE PLACE if you want great selection, knowledgeable and friendly owner and staff who treat you like you pay their salary and just great service. Plus, if you wanna play before you pay, this IS the place. Thanks to Josh, Aaron, Hunter, Chris and everyone else who treats me as a valued customer.
