If you have visited the ROC Farmer’s market but have not yet tried Public Provisions, you are missing out. I stopped by for a Caramel Macchiato to sip while shopping the market. The space was warm and inviting and the service was excellent.

I decided to treat myself to brunch after picking out my vegetables for the week and the server recommended the “Biscuits & Gravy” from the specials board.

The dish was excellent. The gravy was flavorful and surprisingly light. The biscuit was thick with fluffy layers and the our surface had that perfectly crisp crunchy crust. The sunny-side-up egg perched on top was delicious with that clear sheen of an egg cooked to perfection. Watching the yolk ooze into the gravy I knew the first night would be delightful. I almost requested a spoon to ensure I enjoyed every drop of the gravy yet the biscuit portion was exactly enough to enjoy every savory bite. As I mentioned above, the gravy was light and creamy and a welcome change to more gloppy fare I’ve been served under the guise of breakfast. The house brew coffee was excellent. Top marks on all categories. I’ll be back. You should check it out.

This place is our favorite spot for the tastiest and reasonably priced breakfast in the area! We deeply appreciate that their kitchen uses ingredients mostly from LOCAL farmers, and the variety of dishes is carefully crafted to represent the ROCHESTER. Very delicious, whatever you order. Staff is very attentive. Must try if you are in the area.

Ever since we found this hidden gem in public market, we kept coming back! You can tell the chef put a lot of effort into designing the dishes, and the ingredients are always fresh. One of my favorite dish is duck(most of time it is the daily special), and their in house raspberry sauce is BOMB!! Egg in a basket is very good(even though I don’t like blue cheese). All the dishes have different layers of ingredients and balanced flavors.

Pretty casual lunch spot and I loved my experience here. You order at the bar and take your own seat wherever you feel like. Interior and exterior seating available. Self serve water is in option. Food was extremely good, portion sizes were very large, and it came out quickly. Simple menu so making a decision is easy. Located inside the public market, making it convenient if you have other things to grab.

Was at the public market today and decided to try this place for the first time to grab a coffee and quick breakfast sandwich. The staff was great, the vibes were great, and the coffee was awesome. That said, the breakfast sandwich was extremely underwhelming and fell completely short of the price we paid. We paid $40 for 2 coffees and 2 breakfast sandwiches. The bagel itself was very chewy and hard to bite, there was way too much cheese, and the sausage looked and tasted like a meatball they smashed and put on the bagel. Overall, I would probably never get the bagel sandwich again. But given how popular this place is and how good everything else was, I would go back to try other items on their menu.

Im flabbergasted by the reviews here. I have eaten here 4 times. Each time the food falls short of the price being charged. Today I got the crispy chicken sandwich. It came with approximately 8 strands of lettuce, a ridiculously large piece of over fried, extra salty piece of chicken and looked to have had a cup of sauce poured over it, served on a brioche bun that instantly melted under the weight of the sauce and chicken. It was missing the pickles that were listed on the menu item. It was the most unappetizing chicken sandwich I’ve seen in a long time. I should have asked for a refund or something else. It is beyond me why they would serve something that looked like such a train wreck. These are the kind of experiences that keep people going to the burger chains, sure its average food, but it’s consistent and won’t cost your almost $20 bucks for a sandwich and some fries. I gave up two bites in. The fries were fine.

We always look forward to dinner at Provisions! It's so much fun sitting at the chef's table and asking chef Cassidy to surprise us with something special.
The last special event we went to in September was over the top , from the appetizers to the buffet of hor d'oeuvres to the main course of sea bass and porcetta , and to top it off homemade cannolis and Italian cookies.

The food here is ok, but service leaves much to be desired. It was busy when we went, I will give some concessions, but they never refilled our waters after the first time. The coffee was very bitter as well. For the food, the poutine was the highlight for sure. The curds and gravy were delicious, the fries well cooked. The quiche was also good, but was a little undercooked/soggy and the salad that came with it was very bland. I also got a side of home fries, which they charged me $8 for though the menu says $6. My friend got the potato lox, and she did enjoy that one. It is potato and lox on a thick focaccia bread.
