I am appalled that business could be conducted in the manner that it was here. My partner and I received our consultation from James Choi. He was friendly and accommodating up until we made the deal, and only after we did, did things go downhill.

We ended up going with laminate. Initially the price was quoted almost $2,000 higher and we were foolishly thinking we were offered a great deal of something around $4K. This was NOT a price we found at other comparable flooring stores, which made much sense after we saw the work being done. James had said the laminate we selected was water resistant. When I researched online to confirm or called other flooring stores, they said it was NOT. The lack of transparency was apparent after our deposit was made.

I will let the photos speak for itself.

-Modern Home uses nails to "staple" the laminate to the floors. It WILL leave your flooring with chips and holes on your floors, and it leaves the floor looking like it has dark spots. This is NOT the norm and you don't have to settle for this! My parents' laminate floors do not have ANY holes.

-Modern Home did NOT offer aftercare. They left all the gunk, dirt, messes on the floor instead of cleaning it up. It required us to scrub off all the grime. Again, this is NOT normal at other places...

We learned our lesson the painful way through our experience with Modern Home. We are living with our floors since they're paid for, but we would NEVER recommend this place to anyone we care for. We did not appreciate the half-hearted, unethical work completed by them. Please do your research and ask the right, thorough questions beforehand.

I don’t normally write reviews, but had to come on here and say I had the best service here with Eve. She’s literally THE BEST! I was referred by my contractor to come here and was looking for some engineered hardwood floors. I was being very indecisive and kept ordering and returning because the colors from the boxes were slightly different than what I saw in the show room. (This happens when you buy real wood floors as colors vary depending on the tree). She was super patient and was very understanding. One day a new batch of flooring came in and she immediately thought of me. She called and omgosh it was PERFECT. I’ve worked with other flooring stores and the service is just not comparable. I’m super happy with my new installed floors! Thank you Eve!!

The young lady at the register wasn't very nice, don't know if she was having a bad day or what. Other than that, I had a pleasant experience with the rest of the workers. Recommend to replace her. She is very bad for the companies image.
