The employees are so kind and helpful!! Concept always has everything I need and is a great place to learn how to surf. They make everyone feel welcome and happy. Concept Surf Shop is the place to go for all your surfing needs and when you visit Concept, you are supporting locally!!! This shop has every necessity for a beginner surfer to a pro surfer. Brent and Emily are the best owners and have done an awesome job with the place.

Friendly young lads will rent you a quality hardtop. Walk down the street, take the stairs, and you’re in the water. That easy. They even chipped in some wax. ?

If you’re looking for a bike rental in the Encinitas area, this place doesn’t disappoint! I think they mostly do surfing, but they have bikes and the perfect location for anyone wanting to ride around and explore. It’s a beautiful ride to Swami’s beach and the whole area is extremely bike friendly so you won’t feel unsafe and can really enjoy looking around. $25 for 2 hours and $40 for the day- extremely reasonable IMO. I also got stuck in a rain storm and the guy manning the shop, Max, let me dry off, charge my phone, and hang out until I found an uber. Warmest, friendliest place ever- I highly recommend! Thank you for the California hospitality!!

Brilliant surf shop! I rented a board/wetsuit for two days and had a lesson. Brent & Hagen helped me find the right board for my level as well as giving some useful local surf knowledge. My lesson with Mickey was brilliant, he’s a great teacher and I learned a ton during the two hour lesson. Will definitely come back next time I’m in Socal!

This is exactly what you want for a surf lesson! Friendly, knowledgeable and laid back staff. Incredible instructors and easy to sign up and access. My son had a great connection with Max and was up almost right away. He can’t wait to get back in the water.

Marcel gave a great 2-hour lesson to our 12-y/o grandson at Moonlight Beach. Brent couldn’t be a nicer guy and the prices are worth every penny. Good rental equipment and value. Da’ best!

Brought my daughter to one of Concepts Kids surf camps and was thoroughly impressed. The instructors were very attentive to her skill level and fit her to the board size she needed and helped her get up on a wave for the first time. I highly recommend their instruction school and they even have a great selection of gear and rentals in their shop. Definitely worth checking out!
